I'm not used to girls!

Well, one thing that has been different for me is living in a dorm full of girls. In my hall we live 3-5 people in a room and we have four rooms. Let me first say I absolutely LOVE my roommates!  Lois and Rose have such opposite personalities, and I really do believe we have the best relationships out of all the other rooms. Lois (20 years old) is from the Netherlands. How would I describe her to you? She speaks her mind, and doesn’t really think before she speaks. She is probably one of the funniest people I know. She is the type of person that remains quiet, but then she will just murmur something to you and you cannot control your laughter; she loves to make people laugh and she says what everyone would only think. She has a very generous and giving heart, and we are always looking out for each other .A few words to describe her would be: blunt, humorous, opinionated, caring, and a good listener. Rose (21 years old) is from Kenya. Now, how do I describe Rose? She is very loud; you will know when she is in the room. She loves to laugh, and I have to say she has such a quirky laugh. It is very unique. Rose is a teacher back home, so she has a patient heart. She is very caring and wants to make sure both Lois and I are always alright. A few words to describe her would be: silly, loving, outspoken, determined, and happy. The three of us mesh really well together and we are always laughing. It is amazing how three people from different cultures, countries, mother tongues, backgrounds, and home life’s could come together as roommates and grow so close to each other. I will never forget them!
So, for me, growing up with two brothers, and now being thrust into a new environment with only girls has been different. Girls complain a lot more. That is the first thing I have to say. Ya, taking a shower with cold water and a bucket is a big adjustment, but its only 5 months! It’s going to be ok. I assure you ladies, you will survive. Also, even in Africa there is boy drama. Oh, my haha girls….. And the drama! But, there are other things that make me laugh. The conversations are so different. With Jordan I talk about ball, school, more basketball, tv shows, and probably more basketball. With these girls its, just so different! I am enjoying it though :) I take about 5 min to get ready in the morning; they take 30 minutes to an hour. But, with the girls I can talk about deeper things which I enjoy.  And we laugh all the time which is fun. So there are positives and negatives, but I am learning!
Overall I love the new people and personalities, and  the new cultures from all around the world!
