I will be leaving to go on my outreach in two weeks. We
will be traveling to a part of Tanzania called, Mwanza. As a team, we will
drive with public bus transportation to reach this place. That is about a 10 hour bumpy bus ride! Also,
with it being public transportation, who knows who else will be travelling with
us. It could be a smelly old lady with a giant fish. Or perhaps, there is a
baby screaming or a dead chicken in someone’s arms. Talk about a bonding
experience.
The following paragraph is going to be full of random
facts and will be in no particular order.
Our outreach will be 5 weeks long. Each week we will
travel to a different part of Mwanza. I could name all of the different places
we will go, but that would mean nothing to you. So, just know we will be
travelling each week. The first three weeks we will be in
villages. The last two weeks we will be
in town. Our group of 31 people will be split into two groups for the first
three weeks, and when we are in town for the final two weeks, we will be
together again. We will be sleeping in tents, in churches, and outside. Each
location will vary. The environment will be our bathrooms; that goes for
bathing, toilets, and washing clothes. Fun fact! I will get to swim and maybe
even take a bath in Lake Victoria! Some of the ways we will minister to the
people will be: open air crusades, teachings/lectures, seminars for children,
visiting schools and orphanages, door to door ministry, and possibly visiting
hospitals.
So, I have a prayer request for all of you. The area of
Mwanza is heavily influenced by witchcraft. Please pray for, of course, safety
and protection for me and my team, but also for the power and authority of the
Holy Spirit to be present in each of our lives. Pray for us to be courageous and
to be bold for Christ remembering what it says in 1 John 4:4, “You are of God,
little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater
than he who is in the world.”
Also, pray for unity in our team and that God will give
our leaders wisdom.
I know my God will be with us and He will keep us. Please
remember us in your prayers!
You got it!

Looking forward to hearing of HIS victory. :)
